With its delicate aromas and delicious flavors, our 2009
Ferrari-Carano Pinot Grigio is a perfect, light, white wine for
sipping or as an aperitif. Sister wine to the popular
Ferrari-Carano Sangiovese-blend, red wine SIENA, our Pinot Grigio
has citrus, honeysuckle, peach, and green apple aromas complemented
by clean, crisp melon and lime flavors with a touch of creaminess.
The refreshing yet round mouthfeel is balanced by a finish that is
delicate and vibrant.
Vintage Notes
Pinot Gris grapes from three vineyards in Russian River and
Alexander Valleys combine to create this wine. Despite low rainfall
amounts during the spring, the vines produced average yields. A
mild growing season with a warm summer, void of heat spikes,
allowed for even ripening of the grapes and mature flavors at lower
brix, creating delicious, well-balanced Pinot Gris grapes. Grapes
were harvested during the last week of August and the first week of
September.
Winemakers Notes
Individual lots of hand-harvested Pinot Gris grapes are gently
whole cluster pressed to minimize any color or harsh tannin
extraction, then racked to stainless steel tanks for a cold
fermentation. The wine did not undergo malolactic fermentation in
order to retain its bright flavors and crisp acidity. Richness,
depth and complexity increased with weekly lees stirring.

Delicate aromas, delicious flavors and balanced acidity make the
2009 Pinot Grigio the ideal wine to pair with many types of
cuisine. Our favorite pairings include dishes such as seafood
salad, pan-seared scallops, oysters on the half shell, or entrees
with lively and spicy flavors one might find in Asian cuisine.

Due to legal
restrictions on shipments of wine and other alcoholic beverages, we
are currently only shipping wine to the following states : AK*, CA,
CO, DC, FL, GA, HI, IA, ID, IL, KS, ME, MI, MN, MO, NC, ND,
NE, NH, NM, NV, NY, OR, SC, TN*, TX, VA, VT, WA, WI, WV, and
WY.
At this time
we are only able to ship to certain areas within TN and AK.
To verify that you are in a shippable area in either of these
states please call the tasting room at 1-800-831-0381 and ask for
Sasha Cave at ext: 204.
We cannot
ship 375ml bottles of wine into the state of Maine and we cannot
ship 5 liter bottles into the state of
Florida.
At this
time, we do not ship any online store products outside the United
States. Applicable sales tax will be added to your order at check
out, and may include taxation on freight where
applicable.
We only ship
on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. We do not ship UPS 3 Day
Select on Wednesdays. Orders received after 12:00 p.m. on
Wednesdays will be processed and shipped the following Monday
regardless of the shipping method chosen with the exception of UPS
Next Day Air. UPS Next Day Air orders will be shipped Mon, Tue,
Wed, and Thurs. UPS 3 Day Select orders placed on Wednesdays before
12:00 p.m. will also be processed and shipped the following
Monday.
An adult
signature (someone over 21 years of age) is required on every wine
shipment. In our experience you are most likely to receive your
shipment sooner if an adult is available to sign for shipments at
the "Ship To" address during regular business hours. For this
reason, we recommend using a business address as your "Ship To"
address. We cannot ship to P.O. boxes or businesses with alcohol
beverage licenses. UPS ground shipping is only offered seasonally.
This is to protect your wine shipment from harmful temperature
exposure while traveling by truck across the United States in hot
or cold weather months. For this reason, the winery recommends
shipping 2 or 3 day air to better ensure the quality of your wine
