<H1>2004 Fiorella Chardonnay - Russian River Valley -- Ferrari-Carano Vineyards and Winery Shopping Cart</H1> $34.00 -- 2004 Fiorella Chardonnay <IMG SRC="https://store.nexternal.com/fcwinery/images/bottle-fiorella1.jpg" ALIGN=right ALT="2004 Fiorella Chardonnay - Russian River Valley" NAME="2004 Fiorella Chardonnay - Russian River Valley" BORDER=0 HSPACE=10> In the Russian River Valley appellation, known for producing unique wines of finesse and balance, marine fog creeps in at night to cool ripening fruit, while the gravelly soils provide perfect drainage for the vines. Our delicious, single vineyard, Burgundian-style Fiorella Chardonnay is a bright, crisp wine with floral, apricot and citrus aromas. On the palate, hints of minerals, pear, citrus and fig mingle with a touch of oak. This is an elegant, well-balanced wine with a slightly creamy texture and a clean finish. Vintage Notes The fruit for this wine came from our vineyards in the Russian River Valley appellation in Sonoma County, an area known producing some of the worlds best Chardonnays. Despite an unusually warm spring and one of the hottest summers in recent years, 2004 was one of the best growing seasons in recent memory, bringing a perfect balance and quality to the fruit. Harvest began early, 18 to 21 days ahead of 2003, and ended just one day before the fall rains began. Winemakers Notes The grapes for this wine were 100% whole cluster pressed, and then cold settled for two days in stainless steel tanks before moving to barrels. In order to retain the desired amount of natural acidity and still add richness to the wine, the grapes underwent only partial malolactic fermentation. Aged in French oak, the wine was sur lie aged and stirred every two weeks for ten months. The resulting wine has great complexity complemented by bright acidity and a rich finish.
