<h1>2007 Pinot Noir - Green Valley of Russian River Valley -- Ferrari-Carano Vineyards and Winery Shopping Cart</h1> <strike>$32.00</strike> <font color="red"><b>$26.00</b></font> -- <i><strong><em>2007 Pinot Noir - Green Valley of Russian River Valley</em></strong><br><font color="#ff0000"><strong><em>Wine of the Month<br></i> <p> <img src="https://store.nexternal.com/fcwinery/images/pinot%20noir%20small.JPG" align="right" alt="2007 Pinot Noir - Green Valley of Russian River Valley" name="2007 Pinot Noir - Green Valley of Russian River Valley" border="0" hspace="10" /> Our 2007 Ferrari-Carano Pinot Noir comes from Green Valley of Russian River Valley, an appellation known for producing some of California&#8217;s finest Pinot Noirs. The Pinot Noir delights with delicious aromas of plum, blueberry, chocolate, and cinnamon, complemented by Bing cherry, cranberry, strawberry, rose and tea flavors. Rich yet delicate, bright acidity greets you on the palate, while soft tannins and a caramel, toasted oak round out the finish. <br /><br /><b><i>Vintage Notes</i></b><br /><br /><br />Ideal weather gave us the perfect growing conditions for the Russian River Valley Pinot Noir. Early bud break in March led to a dry and moderate spring and summer. The grapes for this wine were harvested in September and completed mid-October. Overall this had to be one of the fastest harvests we can remember, with slightly lower yields than average, but with incredible concentration and intensity of flavors in the grapes. <br /><br /><b><i>Winemakers Notes</i></b><br /><br />Upon entering the winery, the hand-picked Pinot Noir clusters were sorted and gently destemmed allowing for partial whole berry fermentations.&#160;Meticulous care was taken in every aspect to ensure that no oxygen was introduced at any point during winemaking.&#160;Each lot was cold soaked for two to three days and fermented in small bins. Various yeast strains were utilized to add complexity .&#160;The wines were gently pressed and then immediately barrel aged for nine months in French oak.
